Can You Spot The Differences?

It’s that time of year!!

Veggie gardeners everywhere are getting ready for the spring/summer crop; the warm weather vegetables.

Pictured, are my future tomato plants; three different varieties.

Can you spot the differences?

Can you see how the San Marzanos are different from the Romas, are different from the Cherokees?

You can't?

Don't fret--me neither!!

They sure look the same.

Sorry. Forgive me. It was a rhetorical question, to bring home a point.

Tomato plants, at least to me, whether beginning or mature, all look the same.

I certainly can tell a tomato plant from a cucumber plant, but I can’t differentiate within the species.

And my point…

Take a look in any hospital’s nursery, and try to find a difference between the babies. Generally, only the wrist tag will answer that question.

But God knows!

From the very beginning—from the moment of conception, God has seen, and known, our differences and uniqueness.

Before I formed you in the womb, I knew you…” (Jer 1:5)

And from that moment on, He hasn’t lost sight of any of us.

Even the very heads on your head are counted.” (Luke 12:7)

Why I am writing this?

To remind us, our God knows us. Personally. He knows YOU. He loves YOU. He has, since He formed you. Do you think for a moment, that God would do and see and know-you, and then leave? We forget this. We forget that He put so much interest into making us, that He can’t help but care.

You my friend, may feel like you are indistinguishable in a sea of humanity, but you are not!! You are not!

Before you were born, I set you apart…” (Jer 1:5)

Everything is a God example to me. I can’t turn it off. But, I want this one for you, too.

We all need reminders, from time to time.

We all feel less-than on occasions.

But then a new crop of tomato sprouts sings a tune. A God tune. They confess they may look alike, but eloquently add, just wait till you see my fruit!

God made you. God knows you. God’s will is in you. For a reason. For the fruit.

May that be your greatest encouragement!

Dear Father, thank you for knowing me. From the very second of my beginning, to where I am now—You see me, know me, love me. Let me see me, as You see me. Because through Your eyes, I can see my worth; my true worth! And that worth is the fruit You had planned all along.

"When our lives are filled with peace, faith, and joy, people will want to know what we have."
